A Walled Town Garden

The front garden of most houses is often overlooked and this garden is no exception. A low maintenance gravel garden provides little interest.

A new formal parterre adds height, shape and texture, providing visual interest in a small space whilst reflecting the formal symmetry of the architecture.

The house is a stunning Victorian townhouse but the view out the back is lacking horticultural interest. The lawn is a dominant feature but there are few other plants. The existing path snakes through the garden and directs you straight out of the gate in the rear wall.

A ‘secret’ garden is added to create privacy in an open space whilst exuberant planting will enhance the natural beauty of the brick walls.
