A Garden for Entertaining in Hale
A garden for entertaining in Hale was designed to make the most of the new extension. They wished to have an extensive area for entertaining directly outside of the new floor to ceiling windows and doors. The decision was made to construct this in timber as it had to be raised above the existing round level so that the client could walk directly out from the floor level within the house.
They also wanted to make the most of the last rays of the evening sun so a second seating area was installed just off to the side. This was designed as an outside room, with a simple black pergola creating the 'walls' and 'ceiling' to create create a feeling of intimacy. A rendered wall was constructed with a 'fireplace' to house a small piece of outdoor sculpture.

Louise really listened to us and because she understood what we wanted, she translated our brief into a stunning garden that works so well with the new extension to our house. We may have spent less ofn the garden than the extension but it is the garden that impresses our friends the most!
Mr & Mrs Franks, Hale
The new extension to the house had been designed with a view directly from the front door to the garden beyond. We therefore included a planting bed within the large decked area that would provide the focal point when entering the house. This planting area also broke up the expanse of deck, dividing it loosely into two equal spaces for two sets of dining table and chairs.
The clients had daily grand parenting duties and therefore wished to retain the large lawn to allow the children plenty of space for play. Adjacent planting beds were straightened out so that the overall geomoetry of teh new garden is crisp and clear straight lines.
