An Elegant Terrace in Bowdon
An elegant terrace in Bowdon was feeling a bit neglected before my client built a new Orangery to the side of her house, a grand Victorian villa. The new design for the terrace would have to complement both the architecture of the old house and the contemporary style of the new orangery.
We were able to reuse the beautiful York stone paving to ensure the design sits comfortable with the traditional architecture of the house. New planting teraces were built using rendered block work walls which match the orangery.
We love Louise's garden design. We have a unique space which works perfectly with our house and is a pleasure to look out onto. Mrs Livingstone, Bowdon
The client wanted to make better use of her existing lead water feature that had been previously overlooked. It has been successfully reused and is now an attractive feature on a new wall that acts a s ascreen to an area that houses the washing line.
Planting has been kept very traditional using many cottage garden favourites such as Astrantia and lavander. The charming pinks and purples of perennials are interspersed with wispy grasses and scented roses. Formality has been introduced by the use of holly topiary.
